The competition will be held across both virtual and physical platforms, with the final round set to take place on December 16, 2024. This event will explore innovative solutions to empower justice systems through cutting-edge technologies like Artificial Intelligence and Blockchain, providing a platform for students to showcase their entrepreneurial spirit in the legal domain.

About The Competition

The First National Legal Start-up and Business Plan Competition: Legal Pitch 2024 is designed to foster innovative thinking at the intersection of law, technology, and entrepreneurship. Participants are tasked with developing and presenting business plans that address legal challenges using technological advancements, specifically focusing on the justice system. The competition offers a unique opportunity for students to showcase their start-up ideas and propose solutions with legal and business viability.

The Theme

Empowering Justice Through Artificial Intelligence and Blockchain Technology

The theme for this competition focuses on how emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Blockchain can revolutionize the legal and justice system. Participants are encouraged to explore how these technologies can enhance access to justice, improve transparency, and provide more efficient legal solutions.

Guidelines for the Competition

• The competition is open to undergraduate, postgraduate, and Ph.D. scholars.
• Teams must consist of 2 to 4 members.
• The competition will be conducted in three phases:
  • Screening Round – Participants submit a 350-word proposal.
  • Preliminary Round (virtual) – Selected teams present their ideas in front of a panel.
  • Final Round (physical) – The top teams will present their final pitch at the CHRIST University campus.

The Proposal Document should include:

• Introduction
• Problem
• Solution
• The proposal should not exceed 350 words and must be submitted in PDF format.

Important Dates

• Call for Applications- September 15, 2024
• Submission of Applications (Screening) – November 15th, 2024
• Communication of Acceptance- November 20th, 2024
• Preliminary Round (Virtual)- December 7th, 2024
• Final Round (Physical)- December 16, 2024

Registration and Fee

• Registration is open to teams consisting of 2 to 4 members or for sole members.
• A registration fee of INR 1200 per team is applicable, payable only after qualifying for the oral presentation rounds.
• A registration fee of INR 650 per applicant is applicable, payable only after qualifying for the oral presentation rounds.

To register, participants must submit their proposals via the official link provided in the competition brochure.

Awards and Certificates

Certificates of Participation for all teams that submit and present their business plans.

• Certificates of Merit for the top three teams, along with exciting cash prizes:
• 1st Place: INR 10,000 + Certificate of Merit
• 2nd Place: INR 7,000 + Certificate of Merit
• 3rd Place: INR 5,000 + Certificate of Merit
• Special Recognition: INR 3,000 + Certificate of Merit

Potential for collaboration with venture capitalists and industry experts to further develop the winning ideas.
