About the Seminar
The seminar on “Affordable Housing for All” seeks to address the pressing need for inclusive housing in 21st-century India, focusing on the challenges in implementing key government initiatives like the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY). With an emphasis on legal and policy hurdles, the seminar will explore the jurisprudence and constitutional history of property rights in India, the impact of laws on real estate transactions, and the challenges faced by the real estate industry. Key discussions will include land sufficiency, subsidized housing, ease of compliance, and the banking regulations affecting home loans. The seminar will also examine dispute resolution mechanisms for housing-related issues, offering a platform for critical research and dialogue on creating a sustainable framework for affordable housing.
Glimpse Of 1st and 2nd Seminar
The First National Seminar on “Affordable Housing: Building Inclusive Society for the 21st Century India” (October 18–19, 2019) featured the launch of a book edited by Dr. Jasper Vikas George, Dr. Prem Chand, and Ms. Preeti Lakhera, with inaugural addresses by Hon’ble Justice Ms. Deepa Sharma and Prof. Ranbir Singh. The event brought together experts, policymakers, and academicians to explore innovative solutions for inclusive housing.
The Second Edition expanded the dialogue with distinguished speakers like Prof. Umakant Dash, Prof. Jagan Shah, Sh. HM Bhatnagar, Sh. Barun Mitra, and Prof. GS Bajpai. It included a masterclass on affordable housing, focusing on gaps in legal frameworks and policy implementation, providing valuable insights into the challenges and opportunities in the sector.
Objectives
The National Seminar aims to explore the policy, structural, and functional dynamics of affordable housing, fostering discussions to drive legislative and policy interventions for positive social and legal transformation. It also offers participants a platform to share insights and exchange ideas for a comprehensive understanding of the subject.

Submissions on related themes beyond the listed topics are welcome. Original papers and case studies from academics, researchers, legal professionals, non-state actors, and students are invited, with a limit of one co-author (who must also register). All submissions will undergo blind review and plagiarism checks via TURNITIN. Selected papers may be published in a book with an ISBN.
Seminar papers should be thematic and based on sound research methodology, with a word count of 3000–4000 words. Papers must be typed in Times New Roman, font size 12, with 1.5 line spacing and 1” margins, following the latest Bluebook citation style for footnotes. The author’s name, email ID, contact number, and institution must be included at the top of the abstract and paper.

Research Paper shall be submitted to the organisers of the seminar at submissions.clud@nludelhi.ac.in papers received after the stipulated deadline will not be entertained.
